Amazon, yesterday, added the Complete Warner library of music to their site, DRM free. This is a big step, because now, Amazon only has one major studio not on it’s service, Sony BMG. Now, if Amazon can get Sony BMG to come out and offer DRM-free music, this could mean the downfall of iTunes. Why? Because iTunes only offers songs that can be played on an iPod, unless the songs are on iTunes Plus, which are DRM free. However, there are limited songs on iTuntes Plus. Apple has to step up their game a little, or they could go out of business. This opens the possibility of a new iTunes music store with NO DRM. And, since MacWorld is coming up, I expect at least a few more songs on iTunes Plus to be announced at January.
